Tom was very helpful and recommended valid solutions even though they don't work with Databricks. I understand there is no way to just ask to AWS for the root cause of insufficient capacity for specific regions as of now, but it would be very nice if there was an interface like that. So we could get information for this kind of unexpected events and adjust our strategy accordingly.

While the DoIT support team did a great job trying to push the case forward, the service from AWS support has been completely unacceptable. It took five days to unblock a CloudFormation stack due to an internal bug in their managed service. Despite waiting more than three months for a refund, AWS has deflected all responsibility and refused to account for the resources that remained running solely because of this issue. We are being penalized twice: first, by having to bear the consequences of a known AWS bug, and second, by seeing no value from the hundreds of thousands of dollars we spend on Enterprise Support.
