PerfectScale Recognized as Gartner Cool Vendor and Announces Automation Enhancement

On the heels of being named a Gartner Cool Vendor, PerfectScale announces upcoming Kubernetes right-sizing automation.

PerfectScale, the Kubernetes Optimization and Automation Platform, has been named a Cool Vendor based on the August 3rd, 2023 report titled, Cool Vendors in Container Management authored by Dennis Smith, Arun Chandrasekaran, and Tony Iams at Gartner. The report details, “Container technology adoption is outpacing most enterprises’ ability to support large and complex application deployments.”* The report also identifies vendors that are “providing innovative solutions that address this problem.”

Gartner breaks down Container Management Functionality into four segments, two of which PerfectScale supports: Life Cycle Management with its ability to help users improve and ensure Kubernetes stability and resilience across hybrid and multi-cloud environments; and Cost Optimization helping users eliminate wasted resources and run Kubernetes environments at the lowest possible cost.

The report also provides recommendations for DevOps, Cloud, and Platform teams to consider, including:

  • Address multiple functions by selecting container management tooling that addresses life cycle management, security and cost management.
  • Improve management of containerized workloads by shortlisting strategic infrastructure vendors that integrate their operational tooling with container-management platforms and offerings.
“Being named a Gartner Cool Vendor in the Container Management space is an honor to the entire PerfectScale team and a testament to the business impact we are making for our customers,” said Amir Banet, CEO and Co-Founder of PerfectScale. “‘Day 2” Kubernetes operations introduce complexities that many organizations find too time-consuming or lack the expertise to address properly. As PerfectScale continues to lead Day 2 K8s operations space, we are eager to unveil our next major step in our evolution– autonomous optimizations.”

Introducing PerfectScale's Automated Kubernetes Scaler

Following the Gartner “Cool Vendor” recognition, PerfectScale is announcing the upcoming release of its automated Kubernetes right-sizing solution, PerfectScale Automated Scaler. Bringing production-ready, impact-aware autoscaling that continuously right-sizes workload resources, the automated scaler ensures all Kubernetes environments are consistently stable, resilient, and cost-effective. This release extends PerfectScale’s ability to significantly reduce the toil and manual overhead associated with Day-2 operations, especially for continuous cost optimization and ensuring system performance.

Built to support even the most dynamic and complex Kubernetes environments, PerfectScale’s automated scaler continuously adapts to demand changes, ensuring environments are always perfectly tuned. It has built-in awareness of HPA, code changes, and underlying infrastructure capacity. The solution includes all the necessary guardrails to safely and efficiently eliminate wasted cloud resources and inefficiencies. Additionally, autonomous actions instantly resolve resiliency and availability issues to drive consistent environment durability. All actions are executed in a GitOps-friendly way and are compatible with most common Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns and systems, like ArgoCD and GitHub pipelines.

“Our recommendation engine provides crucial insights for optimizing the Kubernetes environment,” said Eli Birger, CTO and Co-Founder of PerfectScale. “But large, dynamic environments require teams to adjust configurations daily. They need an automated solution with safeguards to maintain system integrity and stability.”

Already available for early access to select customers, PerfectScales Vertical Scaler is set to be released in this fall. To learn more about PerfectScale’s Kubernetes Optimization and Automation platform, and to begin your optmization journey, start a free trial today!
